Real Estate Finance | Associate (3+ PQE) or Senior Associate (5+ PQE) | London

High-quality Real Estate Finance work. A genuinely interesting client base. And the opportunity to help grow an established practice.

Lex Exec is working with a highly regarded London law firm looking to appoint a Real Estate Finance Senior Associate as it continues to grow its offering in this area.

Sitting within the firm’s Corporate team, but working closely across its leading Real Estate and Private Wealth practices, the role offers an unusually broad client base including family offices, private investors, developers, sponsors, investment and asset managers and specialist lenders.

The work is equally varied, covering financing of commercial, residential and mixed-use assets across the UK and internationally, including:

  • Acquisition and investment finance
  • Development finance and refinancing
  • Senior and mezzanine facilities
  • Syndicated lending
  • Back-leverage and loan-on-loan financings
  • Intercreditor and complex security arrangements

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Recent matters span residential developments, offices, student accommodation, care homes, hospitality and other specialist real estate investments.

The successful lawyer will advise both lenders and borrowers across the capital stack, with significant responsibility for transactions, direct client contact and close interaction with Partners from an early stage.

Who are we looking for?

Ideally, you will be a Senior Associate or experienced Associate with 5+ years PQE, with a strong Banking & Finance background and substantive Real Estate Finance experience.

You should be comfortable drafting and negotiating facility and security documentation, have a good understanding of LMA Real Estate Finance documentation, and ideally have experience of intercreditor arrangements and multi-jurisdictional transactions.

There is also a genuine opportunity to contribute to the continued development of the practice through client relationships, business development and mentoring more junior lawyers.

Package & working arrangements

  • Salary: £110,000 – £120,000+, dependent on level and experience
  • Location: London
  • Working arrangements: Hybrid working – minimum three days in the office following an initial settling-in period
  • Consideration for: Strong Associates at 3+ PQE as well as existing Senior Associates

This should particularly appeal to Real Estate Finance lawyers who enjoy sophisticated work and high-quality clients, but want greater visibility, responsibility and opportunity to make an impact than can sometimes be available within a much larger finance team.
