Senior Associate – Commercial Real Estate Finance | London

The role

As a Senior Associate within the Commercial Real Estate Finance team, you will handle a broad and high‑quality caseload of real estate finance matters, acting for both lenders and borrowers on complex and often high‑value transactions. This is a hands‑on role with significant client contact and the opportunity to play a key role in the continued development of the firm’s real estate finance practice.

Key responsibilities

  • Managing a varied caseload of commercial real estate finance matters from instruction through to completion
  • Acting for lenders and borrowers on secured lending transactions, including acquisitions, refinancings, and development finance
  • Drafting and negotiating finance documents, security packages, and ancillary documentation
  • Coordinating with real estate, corporate, and construction teams on multi‑disciplinary transactions
  • Providing clear, pragmatic, and commercially focused advice to lenders, investors, sponsors, and developers
  • Liaising with banks, alternative lenders, valuers, agents, and other professional advisers
  • Ensuring work is delivered to a high technical standard and in line with regulatory requirements
  • Contributing to business development and the continued growth of the real estate finance team

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales, operating at Senior Associate level
  • Strong experience handling commercial real estate finance transactions
  • In‑depth understanding of property‑backed lending, security structures, and real estate finance documentation
  • Ability to manage matters independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commercial mindset
  • Client‑focused approach with confidence building long‑term professional relationships
