Team / division overview

The DWS Alternatives business is a diversified set of business activities with approximately EUR 150bn in assets under management in strategies including Private Real Estate, Private Infrastructure, Alternative Credit, Liquid Real Assets (Real Estate/Infrastructure and Commodity Securities) and Sustainable Investments. The global team invests on behalf of a global client base that includes governments, corporations, institutional investors, as well as a growing UNHW investor group.

Alternatives Coverage is part of the DWS Client Coverage Division and are the Alternatives Specialists responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of client relationships on behalf of the Alternatives platform and will work closely with the Investment teams, Product Division and broader Global Client Coverage Division.

The Real Estate division of DWS which is a full-service Real Estate manager with EUR 55 billion in assets under management globally and EUR 26 billion in Europe that acquires and manages investments in individual assets or Real Estate portfolios for funds and separate accounts on behalf of over 500 institutional investors.

Role Details

As a Real Estate Coverage Specialist you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the execution of the sales strategy and capital raising across global Real Estate strategies in the EMEA region, supporting (both with respect to fund marketing, but also SMAs and co-investment syndication)
  • Supporting the development of fund sales plans for Real Estate, working closely with EMEA Real Estate Specialist team and colleagues across generalist Sales, Investments and Product divisions
  • Developing strong productive relationships with internal distribution partners
  • Tracking and following with prospects either directly or through the generalist sales teams
  • Supporting the closing of capital through leading prospect follow ups and due diligence requests
  • Delivering specialist content for RFPs by coordinating and working with real estate key partners including portfolio management, transactions, asset management and ESG teams.
  • Supporting the broader DWS generalist sales team with specialist sales support towards Real Estate strategies.
  • Working with Head of Coverage EMEA Real Estate on marketing strategy including branding, events and conference, webinar programmes, attending relevant conferences
  • Managing Investor Relations activities, including LP engagement, LP Advisory Committee meetings including Fund AGMs and Annual Investor Conference, participating in LP presentations, working with product development on any legal documentation changes and appropriate liaison with LPs
  • Remaining abreast of industry trends and themes and competitor analysis for relevant products

We are looking for:

  • Sound knowledge/experience within the Real Estate investment industry and dealing with institutional investors and their advisors
  • Experience of Distribution, Investor Relations, Client Relationship Management and/or Investment Marketing would be advantageous.
  • Experience of utilising Real Estate subject matter expertise in contributing to the production of specialist investment content for RFP and DDQ activity to support capital formation strategies.
  • Strong networking skills and proactive approach to working with colleagues across the business, but equally adept at working autonomously.
  • Highly structured approach with project management skills and strong analytical skills using Excel.
  • Excellent written skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to connect and build strong relationships with others, highly developed verbal and presentation skills.
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant financial field or with relevant industry experience.
