Paralegal (Commercial Real Estate)

12 months fixed term with view to long term progression

Birmingham City Centre, full time (35hrs a week)

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading international law firm for an exciting opportunity within its highly regarded property team in Birmingham City Centre.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Paralegal or Legal Assistant looking to join a market-leading property practice group working on high-quality commercial property matters for a diverse portfolio of corporate occupiers. The team advises on a broad range of transactions across multiple sectors, offering exposure to complex and varied work in a collaborative and supportive environment.

This role is also suitable for any candidate waiting to start their training contract.

The Role

You will play a key role in supporting a busy team on a wide range of commercial property matters. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the negotiation and completion of commercial real estate transactions, including lease renewals, surrenders, licences, acquisitions and disposals.
  • Reviewing title documentation, analysing search results and supporting due diligence to identify risks and facilitate smooth transactions.
  • Managing completion and post-completion processes, including preparing SDLT returns and Land Registry applications.
  • Liaising with clients, solicitors and internal stakeholders, building strong professional relationships while delivering an excellent level of service.
  • Supporting fee earners on a varied caseload while managing multiple priorities and meeting key deadlines.

  • Previous experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant within a Commercial Real Estate team is ESSENTIAL
  • Experience of commercial landlord and tenant matters, ideally acting on behalf of occupier clients would be desirable
