WTS UK - Real Estate Tax Director
WTS UK is a new non-audit tax advisory firm offering the full range of services to large and listed businesses.
We take a fresh approach to tax advisory - unafraid to offer bold perspectives on complex issues. We provide clear, actionable advice, demonstrating what’s possible when a firm is purpose-built for today’s environment.
Modern, focused, and powered by senior expertise, we embed AI into our ways of working to sharpen insight and enhance client service.
We are proud to be part of WTS, headquartered in Munich, and connected through WTS Global, a network spanning 100 countries. We combine international reach with entrepreneurial agility.
About the Role
This is an opportunity to play a meaningful role in building a modern, conflict-free tax advisory firm – shaping workflows and working directly with senior leaders and high-profile clients in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment. As a Real Estate Tax Director, you will lead major client relationships and real estate tax engagements, resolve the most complex technical issues, and help grow your business area the right way.
Responsibilities
- Leading major real estate tax engagements for large and multinational real estate businesses and investors, presenting advice directly to CFOs and Tax Directors
- Reviewing and resolving the most complex technical matters, acting as the deepest technical reference point in real estate tax
- Growing and leading major client relationships across the real estate sector, identifying opportunities and building your network in the market
- Advising on complex client matters relevant to your specialism — for example, SDLT, capital allowances, REIT structuring, or cross-border real estate fund and joint venture structuring
- Taking ownership of portfolio management, including resource utilisation and recovery across your client base
- Collaborating with colleagues across jurisdictions within the WTS Global network on cross-border real estate projects, and with our Indirect Tax team on VAT matters affecting your clients
- Leading pitches and helping win new opportunities for the firm
- Coaching and developing Senior Managers, and building succession plans within your team
- Championing our technology-enabled ways of working, using AI and digital tools to enhance delivery across your business area
- Contributing to business unit leadership, potentially leading the real estate tax service line, sector, or region

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
