Director, Real Estate Tax - International Law Firm
Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking an experienced real estate tax specialist to grow its London practice.
This is a strategic leadership opportunity for an established real estate tax professional with a strong track record in transaction advisory, due diligence and business development. The successful individual will play a key role in building a market-leading Real Estate Tax capability, developing client relationships, and driving the continued growth of the practice.
The Role
The Director will be responsible for establishing and expanding the firm's real estate offering, working closely with partners and stakeholders across Real Estate, Corporate, Private Equity and wider advisory teams.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and growing the Real Estate Tax service line, creating a scalable and sustainable platform for future growth.
- Acting as the senior technical lead on complex real estate transactions, providing commercially focused tax advice to a diverse client base.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with investors, developers, private equity houses, corporate clients and professional advisers.
- Identifying and converting business development opportunities while contributing to the wider growth strategy of the tax practice.
- Collaborating across legal and advisory teams to maximise cross-selling opportunities and deliver seamless client service.
- Overseeing the quality and delivery of all due diligence engagements, ensuring the highest technical and professional standards.
- Developing and mentoring a specialist team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
- Enhancing the firm's profile through networking, thought leadership and active participation in the real estate market.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Significant experience in Real Estate Tax and transaction advisory.
- Deep knowledge of UK real estate taxation and transaction structures.
- A proven track record of leading and growing a specialist tax practice or service line.
- Strong business development credentials and an established network across the real estate and investment market.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and client relationship skills.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to identify strategic opportunities and deliver practical solutions.
- CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.

Opportunity
This appointment offers the opportunity to take a leadership position within a highly respected platform, helping to shape the direction of the practice while working with an impressive client base on some of the market's most significant transactions.
Salary: £140,000 to £200,000+ plus bonus and benefits (dependent on location, experience and business case).
