DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS
On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Reasonable Adjustments Lead - Inside IR35 for a contract until 31st March 2027, working on a Hybrid basis (40% per month in any office across England or Wales and remaining WFH).
The main duties and responsibilities of the Reasonable Adjustments Lead would be to:
- Act as the organisational subject matter expert on reasonable and workplace adjustments, providing specialist advice and guidance on complex, sensitive or disputed cases to support fair, consistent and evidence-based decision-making.
- Provide specialist advice on complex or unresolved adjustment requests, considering the individual circumstances, relevant medical or Occupational Health advice, effectiveness of the proposed adjustment, operational impact, practicality and potential alternative options.
- Provide an escalation point for cases where agreement has not been reached following advice from the HR Advisory Manager and HR Casework Advisory Team, helping managers explore appropriate options while recognising that responsibility for the final management decision remains with the line manager.
- Promote the consistent and timely application of workplace adjustments across the department, helping to identify and address barriers that may prevent employees from participating fully and performing effectively at work.
- Provide expert advice to managers and HR colleagues on the application of the Equality Act 2010, policy and guidance.
- Work collaboratively with HR colleagues, managers, Occupational Health and relevant stakeholders, providing specialist input where cases are particularly complex or where there is uncertainty about the effectiveness or reasonableness of proposed adjustments
- Promote effective use and regular review of Workplace/Reasonable Adjustment Passports
- Develop and deliver guidance, learning and awareness activities to improve organisational capability and confidence in identifying, considering and implementing effective workplace adjustments.
- Identify themes, trends and recurring barriers arising from adjustment cases and use insight to recommend improvements to policy, guidance, processes and organisational practice.
- Build effective relationships across the organisation to champion an inclusive and accessible workplace, encouraging a proactive approach to removing barriers and supporting employees to thrive at work.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Essential:
- Strong knowledge of the Equality Act 2010 and the legal and practical principles underpinning reasonable adjustments
- Expert knowledge regarding disability discrimination
- Experience of providing specialist advice on complex workplace or employee relations matters, using sound judgement to assess evidence, options and organisational risk.
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to constructively challenge and advise managers and senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify barriers, evaluate potential solutions and reach balanced, evidence-based recommendations.
Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
