Job Summary
The Receiving Associate will be responsible for managing incoming shipments, ensuring accurate deliveries, maintaining receiving records, and working with SAP systems. They unpack shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and handle paperwork related to receiving. Additional duties may include unloading deliveries, and operating warehouse equipment.
This is an immediate-hire, full-time position located in Richardson, Texas. Candidates must currently be able to work at this location and be available to begin employment within approximately 2–3 weeks of receiving an offer. This position is not intended for candidates who will not be available until a future graduation date.
Key Responsibilities
- Loading and Unloading Procedures:
- Assist with the organization and staging of materials for loading and unloading.
- Unpack materials and verify them with associated paperwork.
- Operating warehouse equipment is similar but not limited to, Pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Freight, Shipping, & Receiving Knowledge:
- Apply knowledge of freight handling to support efficient dock operations.
- Assist with the inspection and verification of incoming and outgoing freight.
- Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, and labels.
- Inspect and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists using SAP.
- Record and track inventory accurately in the company’s system. Document and report any discrepancies or damages to internal teams.
- Material Handling Equipment:
- Operate and maintain material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, in compliance with safety guidelines.
- Ensure proper care and storage of equipment when not in use.
- Inventory Tracking:
- Use inventory management systems to document the movement of materials on and off the dock.
- Ensure inventory accuracy and reporting.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and organizational policies during dock operations.
- Report safety hazards and collaborate with the team to maintain a safe work environment.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Dock Supervisor and other team members to meet operational deadlines.
- Communicate effectively to resolve issues and ensure smooth dock operations.

Qualifications
- Familiarity with inventory systems and shipping and receiving best practices.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years’ experience in shipping and receiving.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50lbs.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong knowledge of logistics documentation (e.g., BOLs, packing slips, purchase orders).
- Ability to interpret and verify shipping labels, barcodes, and serial numbers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with the customer.
- Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols for shipping and receiving operations.
- Candidates must successfully pass a full background check.

Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of freight handling and shipping best practices.
- Experience with inventory tracking systems or similar tools.
- Certification in forklift operation or other relevant equipment.
Work Conditions And Environment
- Frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
- Noise level typical of shipping and receiving or warehouse operation.
- Flexibility to support other locations or shifts as needed.
- Strict adherence to stand operating procedures (SOP)
