Reception Class Teacher : Lambeth
Location: Streatham, Lambeth
Start Date: After October Half Term 2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Salary: Inner London MPS/UPS, depending on experience
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lambeth is seeking an enthusiastic Reception Class Teacher to join its Early Years team after the October half term.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate EYFS teacher who can create a stimulating classroom, deliver engaging early learning experiences and help children build the confidence and independence they need to thrive.
The Role
As the Reception Class Teacher, you will take responsibility for a Reception class, ensuring children receive a positive and engaging start to their primary education.
You Will
- Plan and deliver creative, play-based learning in line with the EYFS framework
- Support early development in communication, language, phonics and numeracy
- Create a nurturing classroom where children feel safe, valued and encouraged
- Establish clear routines and promote positive behaviour
- Assess children's progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs
- Support children with SEND and different stages of development
- Work closely with teaching assistants, the EYFS team and wider school staff
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers

About You
The school is looking for a Reception Teacher who understands how young children learn and can balance nurturing support with high expectations.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching within Reception or the wider EYFS
- A strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
- Confidence delivering phonics and early learning activities
- Effective classroom and behaviour management
- A creative, patient and engaging teaching style
- The ability to work collaboratively with support staff and colleagues
