At Portsmouth Solent Vets for Pets, we're looking for a dedicated Reception Manager to lead our friendly and established front-of-house team. Since 1997, we've been proud to provide outstanding care to pets, their owners, and our local community, building a reputation for clinical excellence and exceptional client service.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role within a forward-thinking practice, where you'll lead and inspire a team that helps create a welcoming, compassionate experience for every client and patient who walks through our doors.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a confident and organised leader who is passionate about delivering gold-standard client care and creating positive experiences for both pets and the people who love them.
You'll have:
- Previous experience managing or supervising a customer-facing team
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills
- Strong communication and people management abilities
- Confidence using computer systems (experience with veterinary practice management software would be advantageous)
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
- A genuine desire to support colleagues and contribute to a positive team culture

The role
As Reception Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day running of our reception team, ensuring the highest standards of client care, service delivery, and operational efficiency. Working closely with the clinical leadership team, you'll help drive practice performance while supporting and developing your team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and supporting the reception team to deliver exceptional client service
- Managing non-clinical administration and operational processes
- Overseeing training, audits, quality management, and standard operating procedures
- Conducting appraisals, monitoring performance, and developing team objectives
- Identifying opportunities to enhance client and colleague satisfaction
- Managing training programmes and supporting team development
- Maintaining effective debt control processes
- Prioritising reception workflows to ensure efficient processing of correspondence and documentation
- Participating in management meetings and contributing to the ongoing success of the practice
- Working regular reception shifts as part of the rota

Hours
- 40 hours per week
- Shifts between 8:00am and 7:00pm
- 1 in 4 Saturdays
