Reception Manager Stanneylands
About the Role
The Stanneylands Hotel is a charming four-star country house hotel, combining elegant surroundings, exceptional hospitality and modern comforts to create a welcoming destination for both leisure and business guests. We are looking for a Reception Manager to join our fabulous team at The Stanneylands.
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and support the reception team to deliver exceptional guest service at all times
- Meet and greet guests and visitors, ensuring a warm and professional welcome
- Oversee all face-to-face, online and telephone bookings
- Manage room allocations, reservations and occupancy levels to maximise revenue opportunities
- Ensure the smooth and efficient check-in and check-out of guests
- Handle guest queries, special requests, complaints and service recovery issues
- Monitor and maintain hotel booking systems, room rates and availability
- Prepare and oversee restaurant reservations and guest communications
- Train, coach and develop reception team members to achieve high standards of performance
- Ensure accurate handling of cash, card payments and daily reconciliation procedures
- Work closely with housekeeping, food and beverage, and management teams to deliver a seamless guest experience
- Monitor reception processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety procedures, and data protection requirements
- Maintain a safe working environment and report any hazards or maintenance issues promptly
- Support the Hotel Manager with operational duties, reporting and achieving business objectives

- Previous hotel/reception supervisory experience essential
