Job Title: Reception Supervisor

Hourly Rate of Pay: £15.80

Contract Type: Permanent

Type of Employment: Full Time

Total Weekly Contractual Hours: 40

Shift Description: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Location: HMRC, Stratford Regional Centre, 14 Westfield Avenue, Stratford, London, Greater London, England E20 1HZ

We are looking for a professional and highly organised Reception Supervisor to oversee front-of-house operations across both Main Reception and BEC Reception. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate a multi-site reception service while supporting the wider reception team as and when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reception leadership: Supervise reception staff across Main Reception and BEC Reception, ensuring consistent service delivery and professional standards.
  • Front-of-house coordination: Oversee visitor management, contractor sign-in, and adherence to security protocols at both reception points.
  • Team support: Provide additional support to the wider reception team as and when needed, including covering shifts, resolving issues, and assisting during busy periods.
  • Training & development: Coach and mentor reception staff, ensuring processes are followed and service levels are maintained.
  • Service quality monitoring: Review front-of-house performance, identify improvements, and escalate concerns where required.
  • Meeting room oversight: Manage bookings, resolve conflicts, and ensure rooms are prepared to standard.
  • Client and stakeholder communication: Act as the main point of contact for reception-related queries and service improvements.
  • Administrative management: Oversee documentation, reporting, and inbox management for both reception areas.
  • Building support liaison: Work closely with security, engineering, and cleaning teams to support daily building operations.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Professional front-of-house presence with excellent communication.
  • Ability to manage a multi-site reception environment.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and visitor management systems.
  • Customer-focused approach with a proactive attitude.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Reception Supervisor or Senior Receptionist (essential).
  • Experience managing or supporting multiple reception areas (desirable).
  • Strong understanding of visitor and contractor management processes.
  • Experience supervising small teams or leading front-of-house operations.
