Hotel Receptionist

Description

Beaverbrook holds two MICHELIN Keys and is regarded as one of the UK’s leading country house hotels. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Receptionist who is ready to take the next step, develop their leadership skills and build their career in luxury hospitality. Reception is at the heart of the hotel and the Beaverbrook guest experience.

As Reception Supervisor, you’ll be the most experienced Receptionist on duty, working hands-on at the desk either independently or alongside a colleague, while taking responsibility for supporting the team and overseeing the shift. You’ll be one of the familiar faces our guests see throughout their stay, leading by example and taking pride in making every interaction feel warm, professional and personal.

You’ll work closely with the Duty Managers and wider Estate teams to ensure the guest journey runs smoothly from arrival through to departure.

What you’ll be doing

  • Welcoming guests, checking them in and out and being a friendly point of contact throughout their stay.
  • Taking responsibility for the smooth running of Reception during your shift.
  • Supporting and guiding colleagues and training new starters in our systems, standards and way of working.
  • Building genuine rapport with guests and handling requests, queries and unexpected situations with confidence.
  • Providing a warm and professional telephone service, with excellent telephone etiquette.
  • Accurately processing billing and payments and keeping guest accounts correct.
  • Keeping guest profiles, reservations and other information accurate and up to date.
  • Completing clear and accurate handovers so important information is communicated between shifts and departments.
  • Monitoring arrivals, departures, VIPs and business levels and helping the team prepare accordingly.
  • Working closely with Porters, Guest Relations and departments across the Estate to ensure the guest journey runs smoothly.
  • Leading by example and championing LQA standards.
  • Supporting the Duty Manager with the daily operation and taking ownership of Reception when required.
  • Using Opera Cloud and other systems confidently and accurately.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
