We require an organised and flexible individual to support reception duties within the Elective hub at the Royal Derby Hospital. This is a part time role, Wednesday - Friday 7am - 6pm.

You will be the first point of contact for patients, relatives, and visitors, delivering a courteous, compassionate, and efficient service within a busy and sometimes challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient registration
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Responding to telephone and face-to-face enquiries
  • Supporting clinical staff

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Strong commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care
  • Ability to interact with patients and staff in an efficient and friendly way
  • Ensure correct information is recorded using a variety of IT systems
  • Good communication, inter-personal and administration skills
  • Maintaining a warm and welcoming reception area for patients
  • Using initiative
  • Ability to multitask and think on your feet
  • Ability to use multiple computer systems
  • Liaising with patients, relatives and wider teams via telephone, email and face to face
  • Maintaining patient records, filing and scanning notes
