Description

Simmons Gainsford is a well-established, multidisciplinary firm of Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors, supporting ambitious businesses, entrepreneurs, and individuals with a personal and partner-led approach.
We are looking for a Receptionist to join our friendly admin team. Based in our London office, you’ll be part of a busy and professional environment where client relationships are at the heart of what we do. You’ll be the welcoming face of Simmons Gainsford, providing a positive first impression to clients, visitors, and colleagues while supporting the day-to-day running of the office.
This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone early in their office career or with experience from reception, hospitality, retail, or customer service. You’ll balance front-of-house responsibilities with straightforward administration and general office support. Key Responsibilities
Reception and Client Service
- Act as the first point of contact for clients, visitors, and colleagues
- Welcome visitors and ensure they are directed appropriately
- Answer and transfer incoming telephone calls
- Support meeting room bookings and help prepare rooms for client meetings
- Offer refreshments to clients and visitors when required

Office Support
- Check office, kitchen, and stationery supplies and flag when items need to be reordered
- Complete daily office checks to ensure the workplace remains tidy, professional, and well-stocked
- Help keep communal areas tidy and presentable, including simple coffee machine checks
- Manage incoming and outgoing post, deliveries, and couriers
- Carry out scanning, filing, and other general administrative tasks
- Help monitor shared email inboxes and pass enquiries to the right person
- Support simple office admin tasks such as locker updates when needed
Business Support
- Assist with company events and office activities
- Help create a positive experience for new starters and visitors
- Undertake other reasonable duties to support the smooth running of the office
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
The successful candidate will:
- Enjoy helping people and take pride in providing a warm, professional welcome to clients, visitors, and colleagues
- Have experience in customer service, reception, retail, hospitality, or office support, or be keen to build experience in a professional office environment
- Be confident communicating professionally in person, by telephone, and via email
- Have good organizational skills and pay attention to detail
- Be comfortable carrying out a mix of reception, administration, and office support tasks
- Be able to manage their workload, prioritize tasks, and remain calm when things get busy
- Have basic Microsoft Office skills, especially Outlook, Word, and Teams, or be willing to learn
- Be willing to learn new systems and ways of working
- Be reliable, approachable, and enjoy working as part of a team
