Role Overview
Wellington Health & Fitness Club is seeking a friendly, organised Receptionist to join its front-of-house team for 16 hours per week. This is an important customer-facing role, providing a professional and reassuring presence for members, visitors, College pupils, staff, and external hirers. You will help ensure that everyone using the Club feels informed, valued, and well supported from their first enquiry through to the end of their visit.
The post combines excellent customer service with accurate administration in a busy leisure environment. You will respond to enquiries in person, by telephone, and electronically; support facility, class, and event bookings; process payments; and maintain confidential member and booking records with care. You will also help prospective members explore the Club’s facilities and membership options through knowledgeable, helpful conversations, promoting services in a way that reflects the quality and community spirit of the Club.

Key Responsibilities
- Working closely with the Head Receptionist, Duty Managers, and colleagues across the Club, contribute to an orderly, welcoming, and well-prepared reception area.
- Support the smooth running of daily activities, help with operational checks and event arrangements, and ensure that issues, hazards, or concerns are reported promptly.
- The role requires a calm, practical approach when priorities change, alongside the confidence to resolve routine matters independently and seek guidance where needed.
Requirements
- Strong communication and administrative skills.
- Confidence using everyday digital systems.
- Genuine commitment to thoughtful, high-quality service.
- Experience in leisure, hospitality, or another customer-facing setting would be welcome, although your attention to detail, discretion, and ability to build positive relationships are equally important.
- Comfortable working flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
