Description

Do you enjoy working with people and keeping a busy office running smoothly? Scrutton Bland, part of the Sumer Group, is looking for an Office Administrator to join our Admin team in Ipswich.

This is a varied, hands-on role at the heart of our office, where no two days are the same. If you’re organised and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the reception area, acting as the first point of contact for clients, visitors, and team members
  • Conduct daily office checks and oversee stock levels of office supplies
  • Coordinate with external suppliers (e.g. cleaning, maintenance, security) and support on-site maintenance visits
  • Handle client-facing activities, including answering and directing calls, managing meeting room bookings, and welcoming visitors
  • Carry out general administrative duties such as managing incoming and outgoing post, scanning, and filing
  • Support IT with equipment setup and handovers for staff
  • Provide administrative support to the Operations and Project Manager as needed
  • Assist with company events where required
  • Deliver onboarding support for our new joiners to the business
  • Provide office cover at other locations when required (e.g. holiday or sickness cover)

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a passion for customer care and take pride in making the difference
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent communicator in varied methods including telephone calls and emails
  • Proven organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise when busy whilst maintaining a professional and calm demeanor
  • Ability to grasp new IT systems
    Due to the nature of the role, you will require a full driving licence and have access to your own vehicle and be willing to travel to all our offices as and when required.
