Role Requirements

  • Previous hotel systems exposure, however training will be provided
  • Strong guest relation experience
  • Have worked in a target and standards driven environment previously
  • Have strong computer skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • The ability to plan, prioritise and build rapport with others
  • Enjoys working as part of a team
  • Ambitious and hard working

Responsibilities To Include

  • Efficient check in/out to all guests
  • Switchboard operating
  • Handling guest requests
  • Conversion of enquiries through effective telephone and sales techniques and the tailoring of packages to guest needs in a professional and efficient manner
  • Liaison with all departments to ensure a seamless guest experience including but not limited to front office, housekeeping and food and beverage.
  • Assign rooms according to hotels availability and guests requests
  • Understand and enforce hotel and company credit policies
  • Performing general office duties and administrative tasks
  • Promote Up-Selling within the department
  • Friendly, professional, customer-focused approach towards assisting guests throughout their journey providing a ‘wrap around’ customer care experience

A day in the life of…

As a hotel receptionist, you will be the first and last point of contact for our guests, ensuring a smooth check in/out process for all. Ensure the Front Office Manager is kept fully aware of any relevant feedback from guests and other departments. Maximise room occupancy and use up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities. Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation.

Based in the City Hotel Derry you will be part of a team of passionate people who know that being the best doesn’t always mean working around the clock.
