Job Description

The Receptionist will be responsible for managing the reception area, welcoming visitors, and providing administrative assistance to support the smooth running of the workplace. The role involves handling telephone calls and email enquiries, coordinating appointments, keeping visitor records up to date, and directing requests to the appropriate colleagues.

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a professional and welcoming environment, deal with routine enquiries independently, and know when to refer more complex matters to the relevant team member. Good organisation, discretion, and a customer-focused approach will be essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome visitors, clients, and business guests, ensuring they receive a professional and courteous reception.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and direct enquiries to the appropriate department or individual.
  • Monitor the reception inbox and respond to routine email enquiries.
  • Maintain visitor logs, appointment records, and other reception documentation.
  • Coordinate meeting room bookings and help prepare rooms for scheduled meetings.
  • Receive deliveries and correspondence and ensure they reach the correct recipient.
  • Provide basic administrative support, including document handling, data entry, and filing.
  • Keep the reception area organised and presentable throughout the working day.
  • Communicate relevant information to colleagues and assist with general office coordination.
  • Handle confidential information responsibly and follow workplace procedures.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
