Job Title - Receptionist for Private Healthcare

Salary: £28,500
Location: Central London close to amenities and transport
Hours: Shifts as detailed below
Start: Immediate
Type of Role: Permanent

Our client is a large Fertility group with head clinics based in London. They are a state-of-the-art clinic who are professional, courteous, and always look after their patients offering an excellent service.

We are looking for a receptionist who is passionate about assisting people, has worked within Private Healthcare as Front of House, someone who will follow the patient journey offering a first-class customer service to the patients.

Role Overview & Service Focus

This is a permanent, full-time Front of House role (37.5 hours per week). The department has transitioned into a dedicated, service-focused team - this is no longer a shared role with the contact centre. The team operates as Patient Service Advisors, with a primary focus on high-touch patient care, discreet face-to-face service, and ensuring a seamless, reassuring experience from the moment a patient walks through the door to when they leave.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greeting and checking in patients via our EMR system (eBase), proactively managing waiting area flow, and communicating any clinic delays.
  • Delivering compassionate, professional support for patients navigating sensitive fertility journeys.
  • Managing daily desk routines, including opening/closing checklists, post, and in-person patient queries.
  • Working collaboratively with clinicians, nurses, and administrative teams to keep daily clinic schedules running smoothly.

Ideal Background

  • Previous experience in private healthcare or a high-end customer service/hospitality setting where patient/client care is paramount.
  • Excellent customer service is required, flexibility with the hours and will be clear and concise both on the phone and in person.
  • Excellent computer skills are required for this role alongside accuracy and confidentiality.

Shift Patterns

  • Early: 07:00 – 15:30
  • Middle: 08:00 – 16:30
  • Late: 10:00 – 18:30
  • Open Evening: 11:00 – 19:30
  • Weekend Early: 07:30 – 15:00
  • Weekend Late: 08:30 – 16:00

(Weekend frequency is typically 1 in 3 or 1 in 4 weekends, depending on annual leave cover)
