Role Overview

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented team player who will be the first point of contact for visitors at the office, greeting them in a polite and well-spoken manner. You will also be assigned duties as required (i.e. organization of inbound and outbound mail, administrative work, and general clerical support).

Responsibilities

  • Answer and direct phone calls to the correct Fee Earner
  • Distribute mail (incoming and outgoing)
  • Act as first point of contact for visitors
  • Opening new Criminal and Civil files
  • Diarising and checking against LEAP and Common Platform for Criminal clients
  • Typing letters / attendance notes from dictation sent from the Fee Earner for Criminal and Civil
  • Bail Back chasing when Practice Manager is on leave
  • Reviewing Court lists when Practice Manager is on leave
  • Sending instructions to medical practitioners for Civil clients
  • Gaining medical records for Civil clients
  • Assistance for preparation for litigation for Civil clients
  • Instructions for Counsel for Civil clients
  • Checking Claims portals for Civil clients
  • Creating Legal Aid packs for Fee Earners for Criminal department
  • Checking the Enquiries inbox and forwarding the email to the correct department
  • Booking appointments for Fee Earners and clients
  • Taking payments from clients using the card machine
  • Making refreshments for staff and clients

Salary

£23,000 - £24,000 dependent upon experience, all training will be provided

Hours

9am - 5pm (Monday - Friday)

Annual Leave

20 days plus bank holidays
