Location: Oswestry Leisure Centre, Oswestry SY11 4QB
Salary: £8.00 – £12.71 plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Part time averaging 15 hours per week, Based on a 2-week rota – Week 1 - Monday & Wednesday 16.30-19.30, Saturday 07.45 -12.45 & Sunday 10.00-13.00. Week 2 – Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 16.30-19.30, Saturday 9.00-12.00 and Sunday 07.45 -12.30.

As a Receptionist, you'll be at the heart of the customer experience, helping visitors access the facilities, services and activities that support healthier lives. Whether you're welcoming customers, handling enquiries, processing bookings or supporting colleagues across the centre, your work has purpose. Every interaction is an opportunity to create a positive impact on communities, build trust with customers, and help deliver a safe and welcoming environment where people can thrive.

What you’ll do as a Receptionist

  • Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional service both in person and over the telephone.
  • Provide accurate information about facilities, programmes, memberships, activities and services.
  • Process bookings, memberships, payments and enquiries efficiently and accurately.
  • Handle cash and carry out cashing-up procedures in line with company financial processes.
  • Support the day-to-day operation of reception, including assisting colleagues and maintaining high service standards.
  • Promote additional services, activities and products that enhance the customer experience and support the continued growth of the facility.

Does this sound like you?

  • Experience delivering excellent customer service in a customer-facing environment.
  • Confidence communicating clearly and professionally with a wide range of people.
  • Previous experience handling cash and maintaining accurate records.
  • Able to stay calm under pressure, think quickly and find practical solutions to customer enquiries.
  • A positive, adaptable approach with a genuine commitment to making a difference for customers and the local community.
