Hourly Rate of Pay: £14.91
Contract Type: Permanent
Type of Employment: Part Time
Total Weekly Contractual Hours: 20
Shift Description: One week from 7:00 AM & other week can be from 2:00 PM
Location: HMRC, Stratford Regional Centre, 14 Westfield Avenue, Stratford, London, Greater London, England E20 1HZ
The Receptionist is responsible for delivering a professional front-of-house service, ensuring all visitors, staff, and contractors receive a positive and efficient experience. The role supports daily building operations through effective communication, coordination, and administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Front-of-house operations — Manage the reception desk, greet visitors, and provide a professional first point of contact.
- Visitor management — Register visitors, issue passes, maintain accurate logs, and follow security protocols.
- Call handling — Answer and direct incoming calls promptly and professionally.
- Email and enquiry management — Monitor the reception inbox, respond to queries, and escalate where required.
- Meeting room coordination — Manage bookings, prepare rooms, and support basic setup requirements.
- Contractor sign-in — Ensure contractors follow site procedures, permits, and access rules.
- Post and deliveries — Receive, sort, and distribute mail and parcels.
- Administrative support — Assist with filing, data entry, documentation, and general office tasks.
- Customer service — Provide clear information, support staff queries, and maintain a welcoming environment.
- Building support — Report faults, liaise with engineering/security teams, and support daily operational needs.

Skills & Competencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional and confident front-of-house presence.
- Ability to multitask and manage a busy reception environment.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Competent with Microsoft Office and visitor management systems.
- Customer-focused approach with a positive attitude.
Experience & Qualifications
- Previous reception or front-of-house experience (essential).
- Experience in a corporate or facilities environment (desirable).
- Basic administrative experience.
- Security awareness and understanding of visitor protocols (advantageous).
Working Relationships
- Works closely with security, engineering, cleaning teams, and office management.
- Acts as the first point of contact for staff, visitors, and contractors.
