Part-Time Receptionist

12 Months Maternity Cover Contract Central London

Hours: Wednesday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 6:00pm (1-hour lunch break)
£30,000 pro rata (£18,000 for the 3 days)

The Opportunity

Our client is a highly regarded professional services organisation seeking a Part-Time Receptionist to join their friendly and professional team.

This is a front-of-house role within a fast-paced, client-focused environment where exceptional service standards are paramount. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for visitors, clients and colleagues, ensuring a professional and welcoming experience while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the office.

Key Responsibilities

Front of House & Reception

  • Act as the first point of contact for all visitors, clients and callers
  • Deliver a professional, welcoming and efficient reception service at all times
  • Manage incoming calls and ensure messages are communicated promptly and accurately
  • Maintain high standards across reception and client-facing areas
  • Monitor meeting and conference room usage to ensure rooms are prepared and presented to a high standard
  • Coordinate and support video conferencing and meeting technology
  • Conduct regular checks of reception and meeting spaces to ensure they remain clean, tidy and professional

Administrative Support

  • Provide general administrative assistance to the Office Manager and wider team
  • Complete a variety of day-to-day administrative tasks accurately and efficiently
  • Update internal contact databases and systems
  • Arrange couriers, taxis and other logistical requirements as needed
  • Assist with managing deliveries and coordinating with building services
  • Support the planning and delivery of internal and external events

Team Support

  • As part of a small and collaborative team, the successful candidate will be expected to assist with additional duties where required and contribute to the smooth running of the wider office

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who is professional, proactive and highly organised, with a genuine commitment to providing excellent customer service

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous reception, front-of-house or customer-facing experience
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Professional, confident and approachable manner
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
  • A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering outstanding service
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and general office technology
  • Experience using video conferencing platforms and meeting room technology would be advantageous
