The Role
The person appointed will be responsible for the provision of a customer-focused and efficient front-line reception service to patients, staff and visitors to the Clinic. The successful applicant will be of a professional appearance, articulate, confident and proactive with good communication and IT skills with a pleasant telephone manner.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract working 15 hours over 2 days per week
The Location
Thames Valley Fertility (TVF) was established in 2017, and due to the passion, expertise and reputation of our team, has already grown into a leading fertility clinic. Providing treatment to both NHS and private patients, TVF performs approximately 400 fresh cycles and 400 frozen cycles per year. Offering a full suite of treatment and diagnostic services, including PGT. Conveniently located on the outskirts of Maidenhead, adjacent to junction 8/9 of the M4, there is ample free parking for staff and patients at the front of the building.
Key Responsibilities
- To provide a professional, friendly and efficient front-line reception service to patients, staff and visitors who make enquiries to the Unit in person, by telephone and email.
- To provide general information and assistance to patients, visitors and staff.
- To offer and provide refreshments for patients if requested.
- To ensure the clinic is cleaned according to the cleaning schedule.
- Raise and process patient prescriptions as required.
- Complete consultation lists and extract patient notes when required.
- Booking patients into treatments blocks, make scan and counselling appointments on the computer system.
- Issue receipts and refunds due to patients.
- Filing of medical notes, letters, test results and other correspondence.
- To perform routine office support duties.
- To maintain confidentiality at all times and adhere to the HFEA Code of Practice and Guidelines.
- A willingness to undertake any appropriate duties deemed by the Patient Support Manager to be part of the role of the receptionist.

Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- GCSE English Language and Mathematics at grade C or above (or equivalent qualification).
- Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to communicate with a wide variety of individuals.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Word and Excel.
- Aptitude for and interest in learning new computer applications.
- Pleasant telephone manner, ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, empathetic approach to couples with fertility problems.
- Basic account keeping skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Friendly and approachable.
- Attention to detail.
- Committed and effective team player.
- Willingness to learn.
