Warwick Sport is looking for a professional, enthusiastic, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Receptionist.

This is an exciting opportunity to become the first point of contact for visitors across our extensive and premium sports facilities at the University of Warwick. If you thrive in a busy front-facing environment, enjoy helping people, and take pride in delivering excellent service, we would love to hear from you.

This role will be predominantly based at our Tennis Centre on the Westwood Campus, with working hours typically scheduled between 1200 hrs and 2215 hrs, Monday to Thursday.

About the role

As a key member of the Warwick Sport team, you will provide an efficient, effective, and professional reception service to students, staff, members, and community visitors. You will play an important part in creating a welcoming environment while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our reception areas and supporting the wider operation of our facilities.

Your work will directly contribute to the student experience and support the health and wellbeing of our University staff and local community.

What you'll be doing

In this varied role, you will:

  • Welcome visitors and provide a professional first point of contact across Warwick Sport facilities
  • Manage reception enquiries by phone, email, and in person
  • Operate booking systems, oversee bookings, and support daily opening and closing procedures
  • Maintain accurate customer, membership, and payment records, including direct debits and till processes
  • Handle feedback, support health and safety standards, and keep key information flowing across the team
  • Support stock ordering, deliveries, and general administration
  • Work with colleagues across operations, events, sales, and cleaning teams to deliver an excellent customer experience

This role requires flexibility to work a rota that includes early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

What we're looking for

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience working in a busy reception or customer service environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A positive, enthusiastic, and proactive approach with a willingness to go the extra mile
  • An understanding of customer account management and data security compliance
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, email, calendars, Word, and Excel
  • The ability to work well as part of a team and support colleagues proactively
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to organise, prioritise, and manage workload effectively
  • The confidence to anticipate issues and suggest practical solutions
