Paying £27,000 + Benefits
Our client, a well-established and highly respected engineering company based in Oldham, is looking to recruit a professional, personable, and organised Front of House Receptionist to join their team on a permanent basis.
As the first point of contact for visitors, customers, and suppliers, you'll play a key role in creating a positive first impression while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of reception. This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly business that values professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional customer service.
The standard working hours are 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a 45-minute lunch break. Some flexibility will be required to provide reception cover during periods of annual leave and absence.
The Job
Key Responsibilities
- Answer and direct incoming telephone calls promptly, efficiently, and professionally
- Welcome visitors, customers, and suppliers, ensuring all guests are signed in and out in line with company procedures
- Manage incoming and outgoing post, deliveries, and courier services.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming reception area at all times
- Provide administrative support, including booking meeting rooms, coordinating visitor arrangements, and assisting the wider team with ad hoc administrative tasks

The Person
- Previous experience in a front of house reception and/or switchboard role is essential.
- Strong IT skills, with confidence using Microsoft Outlook and Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Friendly, approachable, and professional, with outstanding customer service skills
- Able to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgement
- Calm and composed under pressure, with excellent organisational skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage priorities independently while supporting colleagues when needed
