About Us
Serencroft Care Homes is an independent care provider operating five residential and nursing homes across England, including Gable Court in Romford. We are CQC-regulated and B Corp certified, and we work in partnership with NHS commissioners and local universities to provide high-quality, person-centred care. We're looking for a friendly, organised Receptionist to be the first point of contact for visitors, families and professionals at Gable Court.
Role Overview
As our Receptionist, you'll be the welcoming face of Gable Court, greeting visitors, managing calls and enquiries, and providing administrative support to the home's management team. You'll help ensure the home meets health and safety standards — playing an important behind-the-scenes role in the comfort and wellbeing of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and greet visitors, families, professionals and contractors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer and direct incoming telephone calls and manage general enquiries
- Maintain accurate visitor sign-in and sign-out records in line with health and safety and safeguarding procedures
- Manage incoming and outgoing post and deliveries
- Provide administrative support to the home's management team, including typing, filing and record keeping
- Schedule appointments and manage diaries as required
- Maintain confidentiality regarding residents, families and staff at all times
- Support the home's marketing and enquiry process, including responding to prospective resident and family enquiries
- Ensure the reception area is kept tidy, welcoming and well presented

What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a receptionist, administrative or customer service role is desirable but not essential
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Right to work in the UK
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm and welcoming manner
- Willingness to work weekends as part of a flexible working pattern
- Experience within a care home, healthcare or similarly regulated environment is desirable
