Receptionist/Administrator – King Henry VIII Junior School

1 Year Fixed Term, Full Time – 37.5 hours per week

Monday to Friday 08.00am to 4.30pm (1 hour unpaid lunch break)

Grade 4 Term Time Only 36 weeks Plus 2 weeks (FTE £25,740)

The Junior School at King Henry’s is an amazing place to work, and the receptionist position is right at the centre of everything we do. It is very much the heartbeat of school, and our receptionist is in many ways the face of the Junior School. We have the most wonderful children who are polite, kind, fun and engaging; they in turn have very supportive parents who work with us to achieve the best possible outcomes for the children; finally, our colleagues are inspiring, friendly, and welcoming. It’s a stimulating and rewarding environment where every day is different, and you don’t just feel as though you’re making a difference; you are making a difference.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, organised and approachable Receptionist/Administrator to join our Junior School administration team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a high-quality reception and administrative service, ensuring that pupils, parents visitors and staff receive a friendly, professional and helpful service.
  • The role will include welcoming visitors, managing the reception area, dealing with telephone and email enquiries, maintaining pupil records, supporting attendance processes and managing the signing in and out of pupils and visitors.
  • Provide general administrative support across the school, including managing post and deliveries, maintaining records, producing newsletters and other school communication, supporting meetings and school events, ordering stationery and supplies and providing administrative support to staff as required.
  • Support the school’s medical provision under the supervision of the School Nurse. This will also involve undertaking appropriate first aid and specialist training, administering basic first aid, maintain accurate medical records and supporting the administration of medication in accordance with school procedures and relevant care plans.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
