Receptionist/Trainer: Hair and Beauty (Maternity Cover)
Location: Rotherham Campus, Rotherham
Salary: £27,330 (A £14,957.64 pro:rata) a year + benefits
Vacancy Type: Temporary (until June 2027), Part time (22.5 hours each week, 38 weeks worked)

We are seeking a proactive Receptionist / Trainer to join our Hair and Beauty department at the Rotherham College Campus. In this key dual role, you will manage the daily front-of-house operations for our commercial training salon while guiding and assessing students in a real-world working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Salon Management and Customer Experience: Deliver outstanding, friendly, and professional client service while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
- Commercial and Marketing Strategy: Drive salon revenue by planning treatments alongside technical staff, promoting services, building client relationships, and leading retail sales growth.
- Student Assessment and Guidance: Oversee and assess students practicing their reception and customer service skills, ensuring high-quality learning opportunities that align with their qualification goals.
- Operational Excellence: Maintain professional reception standards that mirror top-tier commercial salons.

The hours will include covering the Salon on a Tuesday and Thursday evening.
What We Are Looking For
Essential Experience And Qualifications
- Practical experience working in a commercial salon across both professional service and customer-facing roles.
- Level 3 (or higher) vocationally relevant qualification in Hair and/or Beauty.
- Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths.
Desirable Qualifications
- A recognised Assessing qualification (e.g., CAVA, TAQA, A1).
- Current First Aid at Work certificate.

You will join the vibrant Hair and Beauty Curriculum Team, collaborating closely with salon technicians, vocational staff, and tutors. Reporting to the Curriculum Team Leader, you will receive clear guidance while enjoying the autonomy to manage day-to-day reception decisions and drive salon success.
