Financial Accountant – 3 Month FTC (Immediate Start)
1 day a week in London
£45k
Our client, a well-established leisure and retail business, are looking to source a Financial Accountant to join on a 3-month fixed-term contract, with an immediate start.
Role snapshot
- Duration: 3 months (potential for extension depending on business need)
- Salary: c. £45,000 pro rata
- Location: Hybrid – 1 day per week in the office (Central/South London), remainder from home
- Level: Part-qualified or qualified accountant considered
- Start: ASAP
What you’d be doing
Following a recent transition to a new parent group, the business has a backlog of balance sheet reconciliation work to clear ahead of year-end audit. You’d be getting stuck into:

- Reviewing and clearing a high volume of outstanding transactions
- Investigating and reallocating unclaimed VAT
- Reconciling supplier accounts to ensure payments are correctly allocated to accounts payable, and identifying/recovering any duplicate payments
- Correctly categorising balance sheet items so the business has a clean, single source of truth
- Correctly categorising receipts to give an accurate picture of monies owed
- Supporting the wider finance team ahead of year-end audit by tidying up these positions in advance

This would suit someone who enjoys getting stuck into complex, slightly messy reconciliation work and likes the satisfaction of leaving things properly cleaned up — confident working independently, comfortable liaising with stakeholders across the business, and happy to hit the ground running.
Interested candidates must have relevant UK based experience, a stable CV, and the ability to start immediately.
