Reconciliations/Junior Management Accountant

We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Reconciliations/Junior Management Accountant to work as part of our Finance team in ChangeGroup’s Central London Head Office. Based in our offices in Piccadilly, you will report into the UK Management Accountant.

You will assist the Management Accountants in maintaining accurate accounting records across the business. This will include supporting the preparation of management reports, financial reconciliations, forecasts, budgets and statutory reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reconciliations

  • Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts, bank accounts, customer and supplier accounts, control accounts, and key balance sheet accounts. Investigating and resolving discrepancies on a timely basis, ensuring accurate reporting of fixed assets, prepayments, accruals, cash on premises and intercompany accounts.
  • Recording monthly payroll journals in the general ledger, ensuring all related control accounts are reconciled, and PAYE payments are made to HMRC in a timely manner.
  • Assisting the Group Accounts Payable team with various accounting tasks, including supplier payments.
  • Preparing detailed monthly balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Ensuring all transactions are accurately coded and recorded within the general ledger.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring financial information is complete, accurate and submitted within agreed deadlines.

Management Accounting & Reporting

  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including journal postings, accruals, prepayments and variance analysis.
  • Preparing monthly management reports and performance commentary, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Producing financial analysis and KPI reports to support operational teams and management decision-making.
  • Preparing regular cash flow forecasts and monitoring working capital performance.
  • Investigating and explaining variances between actual results, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Assisting in the preparation and review of annual budgets, periodic forecasts, and business plans.

Analysis, Forecasting & Improvement

  • Assisting with the analysis of transactions, revenue and other financial data on an ongoing basis.
  • Supporting the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting activities.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve, automate and streamline accounting and reconciliation processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaise confidently and professionally with customers, suppliers, colleagues at all levels of the organisation and external auditors.
  • Build strong working relationships with operational teams to provide financial support and insight.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties or responsibilities required to support the effective operation of the finance function and the wider business.

Salary range

£36,000 to £40,000 – depending on qualifications and experience.
