About the role

The Guinness Partnership has a new opportunity for a Reconciliations & Reporting Accountant to join our reconciliations team on a full-time, permanent contract, based in Oldham.

We currently offer hybrid working, blending office days with days working from home.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a fully qualified accountant with proven experience producing balance sheet reconciliations within a complex organisation. You will have a strong understanding of core accounting principles, experience liaising with external auditors, and the ability to prepare technical reports for management. With excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will be able to manage a varied workload, prioritise effectively, and consistently deliver accurate work to agreed deadlines.

You will be able to demonstrate these essential skills:

  • Experience of producing balance sheet reconciliations in a complex business including liaising with external auditors and producing technical reports for management as appropriate.
  • Solid knowledge of fundamental accounting principles.
  • Good attention to detail with ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrates the Guinness Behaviours.

Desirable skills:

  • Experience of using Oracle Financials or equivalent ERP system.
  • Proven experience of project management.
  • Experience of managing a small team to deliver success.
  • Experience of accounting in the Social Housing sector.

Essential qualifications:

  • CCAB/CIMA/ACCA qualified accountant.
