Record to Report (R2R) Accountant

As an R2R Accountant, you’ll ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of our financial reporting. You’ll be pivotal in reviewing the company’s financial position, maintaining robust documentation, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires technical accounting skills, a thorough understanding of financial processes, and effective communication with stakeholders. Your technical expertise will support both monthly operations and strategic financial decision-making.

Key Deliverables

  • Complete the monthly, half-yearly, and annual close processes for Pennon Group companies, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
  • Controlling month-end procedures for Pennon Group PLC holding company, including reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial data accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather reporting and analysis information.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities within the R2R function and across the finance function.
  • Stay updated on changes to accounting standards and regulations.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Extensive accounting experience, including transactional accounting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for process improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills to extract and document complex financial information.
  • Sound knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software.

Qualifications

  • Required: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent financial qualification.
  • Desirable: Strong Microsoft Office and IT skills.
