About Zego

At Zego, we understand that traditional motor insurance holds good drivers back. It's too complicated, too expensive, and it doesn't reflect how well you actually drive. Since 2016, we have been on a mission to change that by offering the lowest priced insurance for good drivers.

From van drivers and gig workers to everyday car drivers, our customers are the driving force behind everything we do. We've sold tens of millions of policies and raised over $200 million in funding and picked up numerous awards, including the Insurance Claims Team Of The Year 2024 as awarded at The Insurance Post's Claims & Fraud Awards. And we're only just getting started.

That's where you come in...

We're on the lookout for a passionate, driven, and detail-oriented Claims Recovery Handler to join our growing team in Halifax. This is a great opportunity for individuals with prior insurance experience who are looking to develop a specialism in recovery. You'll play a vital role in protecting Zego's financial position by pursuing subrogation and third-party recoveries, challenging credit hire costs, ensuring every recovery opportunity is identified and maximised.

What you will be doing

  • You will manage a portfolio of motor claims recovery cases, pursuing subrogation,
  • You will review claim files, liability decisions, and supporting evidence to identify valid recovery prospects and initiate action promptly.
  • You will correspond and negotiate with third-party insurers, solicitors, credit hire organisations, and other parties to achieve cost-effective settlements on behalf of Zego and our customers.
  • You will maintain accurate and up-to-date records across our claims management systems, ensuring all recovery activity is clearly documented at every stage.
  • You will keep customers informed where relevant, ensuring they understand the recovery process and any impact on their claim.
  • You will identify patterns or trends in recovery cases that may highlight wider operational or supplier issues, escalating these appropriately.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • You have the ability to multitask, prioritise a varied caseload, and manage your time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
