Overview
We are looking for a Trainee Claims Handler to join our Recovery team at Strata. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start a career within the insurance industry, with full training provided, excellent development opportunities and the chance to work towards recognised legal qualifications.
Based in Tamworth, this role is Monday - Friday with working hours between 8:00am and 6:00pm, working 37.5 hours per week. Hybrid working is available following successful completion of probation.

How you'll make an impact
- Manage property recovery claims from first notification through to settlement.
- Investigate liability and recovery prospects, gathering evidence and documentation by telephone and in writing.
- Liaise with clients, insurers, solicitors, third parties and other relevant parties to progress claims.
- Support litigated claims where required, ensuring compliance with court directions and relevant procedures.
- Negotiate and settle claims while delivering excellent customer service.
- Maintain accurate records and update internal systems throughout the claim lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal procedures and client specific processes.
- Meet individual performance targets and take ownership of ongoing learning and development.
About You
- 5 GCSEs including English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
- A Levels, BTEC qualifications or equivalent would be advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Comfortable speaking with customers and handling a variety of queries.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Able to manage workloads, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to investigate and assess information.
- An interest in developing a long term career within insurance, claims or legal services.
- Previous experience within insurance, claims or legal services would be beneficial but is not essential.
