Are you passionate about helping others live safer, healthier, and more independent lives?
Join Waythrough, one of the UK’s leading mental health and social support charities, and make a lasting impact every day.

About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join Haringey Alcohol and Recovery Service (HAGA) as a Non-Opiate Recovery Coordinator.
As a Non-Opiate Recovery Coordinator, you will support people experiencing difficulties with non-opiate substance use to make positive and sustainable changes in their lives. You will manage a caseload of service users, providing person-centred support throughout their treatment journey, from initial engagement through to structured treatment and sustained recovery.
You will support individuals to achieve their goals, which may include reducing substance-related harm, changing patterns of substance use, achieving abstinence, and accessing additional treatment or support where appropriate.
You will also be required to maintain accurate and timely records using case management systems, ensuring that information is recorded in line with service requirements and organisational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of service users, completing assessments, risk assessments, and personalised recovery plans, and regularly reviewing progress against agreed goals.
- Deliver effective psychosocial interventions and structured treatment, supporting individuals to reduce substance-related harm, change patterns of substance use, and work towards recovery.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with service users, supporting their progression from initial engagement through structured treatment and towards sustained recovery.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to provide holistic, wraparound support and achieve the best possible health and wellbeing outcomes for individuals.
- Maintain high-quality case management and service records, ensuring client information is accurate, timely, and recorded in line with organisational and service requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
