Recovery Team Leader Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Recovery Team Leader within the James Paget University Hospitals Theatre Department. This role involves providing strong leadership and support in collaboration with the Theatre Manager within the Post-Operative Care Unit.

As the post holder, you will have oversight and responsibility for your designated recovery team, working alongside an established and experienced Band 6 leadership group.

Our department comprises 15 theatres, including dedicated eye and elective orthopaedic units, delivering both planned and emergency surgical services. If you are a caring, compassionate, and resilient individual who thrives under pressure and is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care, we would be delighted to receive your application.

  • Performing extended clinical duties following appropriate training such as venepuncture, cannulation, and ECGs
  • Strong communication within multidisciplinary teams

  • Delivering meaningful appraisals for junior staff
  • Fostering a supportive learning environment for staff and students
  • Acting as a patient advocate
  • Contributing as an effective link practitioner when required
  • Adherence to Trust and departmental policies
  • Consistent promotion of patient dignity, safety, and high professional standards
