About The Weldon Wellbeing Pavilion

The Weldon Wellbeing Pavilion is a new purpose built community leisure and wellbeing hub. The Pavilion aims to improve lives through leisure by providing inclusive, affordable and sustainable activity spaces for the entire community.

Developed in partnership with Ebbsfleet Garden City Trust, the Pavilion will be a vibrant local centre supporting health, fitness, sport and community events.

Role Overview

Join our team as a Recreation Assistant and play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming and energetic environment for all leisure centre visitors. In this varied role you'll supervise customers across all areas, support the smooth daily running of the centre and ensure everyone enjoys a high‑quality experience. You'll be part of a team that prides itself on excellent customer service and works together to maintain a positive atmosphere throughout the facility.

As a proactive member of the leisure centre team you'll help the centre meet its performance goals while always keeping customer safety and satisfaction at the heart of what you do. From following Normal Operating Procedures and Emergency Action Procedures to handling customer comments professionally you'll contribute to a safe, organised and enjoyable environment. Your work will also include maintaining high standards of cleanliness and preparing the facilities for customer use to ensure the centre is always ready to welcome the community.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, teamwork and engaging with the public. Depending on your training and experience you may also support additional areas such as reception, children's activities, birthday parties, holiday clubs or catering. If you're enthusiastic, reliable and committed to delivering great service we'd love for you to bring your energy and passion to our team.

Hours

  • 21 hours a week, Monday to Sunday (rota basis)

Requirements

  • A passion and energy for the leisure industry
  • Customer service understanding and awareness
  • Excellent communication skills, able to think on your feet
  • Team orientated approach, able to work across organisation boundaries and demonstrate interest and be supportive of the work of staff and colleagues
  • To be able to work flexibly and understand instructions from managers
  • Well developed interpersonal skills

Desirable

  • An appreciation and awareness of industry developments, new activities, trends and research
