Recruiter – VC / Go-to-Market Talent
Are you a recruiter with strong potential who wants to move beyond traditional agency recruitment and work much more closely with founders and growing businesses? My client is looking for someone who could currently be recruiting across technology, go-to-market, SaaS or another specialist market, but who has the commercial awareness, curiosity and ambition to operate in a much more consultative environment.
You don’t need to have worked in venture capital before.
What matters is that you are good with people, commercially sharp, comfortable speaking to senior stakeholders and genuinely interested in understanding how businesses grow.
The opportunity
You’ll work within a VC environment, helping portfolio companies build the teams they need to scale.
Rather than sitting outside the business as a traditional recruitment supplier, you’ll work much more closely with founders and leadership teams, understanding what they are trying to achieve and helping them solve the hiring challenges that sit behind that growth. You might be helping one business make its first key GTM hires, while another needs to build out an entire sales function or identify a senior commercial leader.
The role gives you the variety of agency recruitment, but with far greater exposure to the businesses themselves.
Why make the move?
This is a great opportunity for a recruiter who enjoys recruitment but wants more than simply working vacancies.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You’ll get exposure to:
- Founders, investors and senior leadership teams
- High-growth technology businesses at different stages of development
- GTM hiring across sales, marketing, customer success, RevOps and leadership
- The commercial thinking behind why companies hire, not just who they hire
- Different approaches to scaling teams and building organisations
- A portfolio of businesses rather than one internal company
- More consultative, relationship-led recruitment
You’ll still build the core skills that make a great recruiter: sourcing, qualifying, influencing, managing processes, handling objections and closing candidates. The difference is that you’ll start to understand recruitment in a much broader commercial context.
Who they’re looking for
You could currently be a:
- Tech recruiter
- GTM recruiter
- SaaS recruiter
- Sales recruiter
- Recruiter from another specialist market who can demonstrate strong potential
They are less concerned with your exact recruitment niche than they are with your ability to think commercially and operate credibly.
You’ll probably be someone who asks good questions, learns quickly and wants to understand the businesses you recruit for rather than simply taking a job brief and filling it.

You’ll need to be confident communicating with senior people, comfortable taking ownership and interested in becoming a genuinely consultative recruiter.
This could be a particularly strong move for someone who likes the pace, variety and challenge of agency recruitment but wants to get closer to the companies they are helping to build.
Where could it lead?
The experience can open up a number of longer-term routes, including VC talent and platform roles, talent leadership, high-growth startup recruitment and more strategic talent positions. More importantly, you’ll build a network across founders, senior GTM leaders, investors and scaling technology businesses that would be very difficult to replicate in a traditional recruitment role.
How to Apply
If you’re a recruiter with strong potential and you like the idea of moving into a more commercial, consultative VC environment, get in touch.
You don’t need previous VC experience, but you do need to be ambitious, curious and able to demonstrate why you’re ready for more responsibility.
