The Role
We are looking for an experienced, driven and hands-on Recruitment Account Manager to take ownership of a busy onsite recruitment operation at one of our key clients in Derby.
This is not a desk-based account management role. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day recruitment operation onsite, building a strong relationship with the client and leading a team of Recruitment Coordinators to deliver a reliable, high-performing temporary workforce.
This is a demanding role that requires someone who is comfortable working at pace, dealing with changing priorities and taking ownership when things don't go to plan.
You will be the key link between our client, temporary workforce and recruitment branch, ensuring staffing levels, attendance, performance and service standards are consistently maintained.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Team Management: Lead, support and develop a team of onsite Recruitment Coordinators, setting clear expectations and ensuring consistent performance.
- Client Relationship Management: Build a strong working relationship with warehouse management and key client contacts, becoming a trusted partner and first point of contact for staffing requirements.
- Workforce Planning: Take ownership of daily and forward staffing requirements, ensuring the operation is appropriately resourced.
- Operational Management: Oversee the onsite recruitment operation, ensuring workers are checked in, deployed correctly and replacements are arranged quickly when required.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Ensure sufficient temporary workers are recruited, inducted and available to meet operational demand.
- Attendance & Performance: Monitor attendance, productivity, conduct and general workforce performance, taking appropriate action where required.
- KPI Management: Own daily and weekly reporting, analysing key recruitment and operational KPIs and using data to identify areas for improvement.
- Problem Solving: Deal confidently with issues as they arise, from last-minute staffing shortages to attendance, performance and client concerns.
- Compliance: Ensure all recruitment, onboarding and workforce processes are completed accurately and in line with company and client requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, worker retention, communication and operational efficiency.
- Communication: Maintain clear communication between the client, onsite team, temporary workforce and internal recruitment branch.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
