The East Sussex County Council Recruitment Team are looking to appoint two Recruitment Assistants. We have one permanent vacancy and a second 12-month fixed term contract.
This is a great opportunity for an introduction to working in recruitment and HR and can provide an invaluable foundation for anyone looking to launch a career in these areas of work.
We are a busy team responsible for assisting candidates and supporting hiring managers right across the Council to make more than 1000 appointments every year to a diverse variety of roles ranging from apprentices to our most senior management positions.
We are always looking to make improvements for our customers whilst working within a supportive team and working hard to live up to our excellent reputation. As a member of the team, you will have the opportunity to influence change, be creative and make a difference to people’s working lives.
We are looking for candidates who:
- Are proactive and confident communicators, who can speak to managers and candidates
- Enjoy the challenge of working at pace to meet deadlines whilst retaining a keen eye for detail
- Can manage multiple priorities effectively and efficiently
- Can manage a large case load of appointed candidates to meet deadlines

Interviews will be held on Friday 16th October. They will be held in person at County Hall in Lewes. We will provide you with a copy of the interview questions before your interview. You will be interviewed by two members of the team. We welcome your questions as part of the process.

Vocational Training through Apprenticeships is now available to our staff, ranging from entry level to degree level qualifications. You can talk to the hiring manager and the apprenticeship team about what qualifications would be relevant to you and this job role, and if it is possible to support you in apprenticeship training.
The post is based in Lewes, East Sussex and we will require that you work from the office for a minimum of two days per week.
