Recruitment Consultant
£28,000–£30,000 basic | Uncapped commission | Realistic Year 1 Earnings £45,000–£55,000
If you’re looking for genuine mentoring, uncapped earning potential and a long-term career where performance is recognised and rewarded, keep reading.
In just four years, Altura has made over 350 placements, built trusted relationships with more than 150 property and construction consultancies, and assembled a leadership team with almost 40 years’ combined experience recruiting exclusively within the built environment.
None of that happened by accident. It happened because we’ve stayed disciplined about who we hire, how we work and the standards we hold ourselves to.
Who we are:
Altura is a boutique executive search consultancy operating exclusively within the built environment.
We recruit Building Surveyors, Fire Engineers, Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors and CDM/Principal Designer professionals into consultancy and private practice roles across the UK.
We don’t chase volume and we don’t churn CVs.
We build long-term relationships with clients and candidates based on trust, honesty and professional advice. We’d rather lose a fee than compromise our reputation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The opportunity:
You’ll receive one-to-one mentoring from experienced recruiters while learning how to build your own specialist market.
As your confidence grows, you’ll take ownership of your own desk, developing client relationships, managing recruitment processes and becoming a trusted adviser within your market.
You’ll inherit the foundations of an established business with a recognised brand and long-standing client relationships, rather than starting completely from scratch.
Recruitment isn’t always easy. There will be weeks where nothing seems to land, conversations that go nowhere and deals you’ve worked on for months that fall apart at the last minute.
The people who succeed are the ones who keep doing the right things consistently.
In return, you’ll have genuine autonomy, clear progression all the way through to Director, and the opportunity to build a career where your results directly influence your earnings.
Who we’re looking for:
We’re looking for someone who wants a career rather than just a job.
You might be early in your recruitment career and looking for an environment where you’ll receive genuine mentoring, greater autonomy and the opportunity to build something long term.
