Recruitment Divisional Head – New Market Development
Location: Leeds – minimum 3 days per week in the office
Sector: Recruitment
Employment Type: Permanent
Experience: 4 years’ experience minimum
The Opportunity
We are looking for an ambitious, entrepreneurial Recruitment Divisional Head to join an established recruitment business and take ownership of launching a new industry vertical.
The immediate priority is winning business, opening doors and proving that a new market can be successfully developed. Once you have demonstrated that the market works and established a strong commercial foundation, the next stage will be to build a team around you and develop the division into a significant revenue-generating business.
You will be given the autonomy, support and platform to identify an attractive industry, develop a go-to-market strategy and build a successful client base and division from the ground up. This is therefore an ideal opportunity for a highly driven recruitment professional who enjoys the hunt, building something from scratch and creating their own success.
What You'll Be Doing / What We're Looking For
- Identify and develop a new industry vertical with significant commercial potential.
- Build and execute a strategy to enter and establish the business within that market.
- Research target organisations, identify decision-makers and create new business opportunities.
- Generate new client relationships through proactive business development and a genuine hunter mentality.
- Win new accounts and develop them into long-term, high-value relationships.
- Establish a strong personal network and reputation within the chosen market.
- Take ownership of revenue generation and commercial performance.
- Test, refine and prove the recruitment proposition within the new sector.
- Develop a repeatable business model that can subsequently be scaled.
- Once the market has been proven, recruit and develop a team to support the continued growth of the division.
- Ultimately take responsibility for the strategy, performance and growth of the division.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate that they have built something commercially from scratch. Importantly, previous team management experience is not essential. We are much more interested in someone who can prove they can win a market than someone who has simply managed an existing recruitment team.
What Success Looks Like
- Phase 1 – Market Entry
- Identify the right industry, develop the proposition and begin opening doors.
- Phase 2 – Prove the Model
- Win clients, generate placements/revenue and demonstrate that the market has genuine potential.
- Phase 3 – Build the Division
- Once the commercial model is proven, recruit a team around you and begin scaling the operation.
- Phase 4 – Divisional Leadership
- Take full ownership of the division's growth, strategy, revenue and people as it develops into a substantial part of the wider business.

Why Join?
This is a rare opportunity to build a recruitment division rather than inherit one. You will have the opportunity to:
- Choose and develop a new market.
- Have significant autonomy over how that market is approached.
- Build your own client base and reputation.
- Progress into genuine divisional leadership.
- Recruit and build a team around a successful proposition.
- Have a direct and visible impact on the growth of the business.
- Develop a long-term career around something you have personally created.
If you are a proven recruitment hunter who wants the opportunity to build something rather than manage something that already exists, this could be the role for you.
Location
The role requires someone who is commutable to Leeds and able to work from the Leeds office a minimum of 3 days per week.
This requirement is essential due to the collaborative nature of the role and the importance of being closely connected with the wider business as the new division develops.
“It took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
