The Company:

ECW Search is a highly profitable, privately owned and self-funded recruitment business specialising in commercial hiring across the UK, EMEA and US.

We partner with market-leading global brands and high-growth businesses across retained search, contingent recruitment and embedded talent solutions.

We're now investing in the next phase of ECW's growth, expanding into new specialist markets while continuing to grow our core business.

For ambitious people joining us, that means genuine opportunity.

You'll join an established recruitment company with the infrastructure, technology, customers and experience to help you succeed, while retaining the entrepreneurial feel and freedom of a much smaller business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The Role:

Recruitment is fundamentally a sales and relationship business.

You'll learn how to identify growing businesses, develop senior-level customer relationships, understand their hiring challenges and connect them with exceptional people.

You'll be trained and supported by experienced recruiters, but we'll also expect you to bring the commercial drive and sales mentality that has made you successful in your career so far.

You'll:

  • Build relationships with new customers through proactive business development.
  • Speak with senior decision-makers across your specialist market.
  • Learn how to consult with businesses around their hiring challenges.
  • Manage customer relationships from initial conversation through to successful placement.
  • Build a network of high-quality candidates within your market.
  • Learn how to identify, approach and engage hard-to-find talent.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and manage recruitment processes.
  • Take ownership of your activity, pipeline and results.
  • Have the opportunity to progress into senior recruitment, account management or leadership.

The Person:

We're interested in salespeople with a track record of success who are ready for something bigger.

Your industry you have experience in isn't the most important thing.

Your attitude, commercial ability and ambition are.

You'll ideally:

  • Have a successful track record in a sales or business development role.
  • Be confident speaking with customers and developing new relationships.
  • Enjoy winning new business and creating opportunities.
  • Be comfortable picking up the phone and approaching new customers.
  • Have strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Be competitive, resilient and comfortable working towards targets.
  • Want your earnings to reflect the results you deliver.
  • Be able to manage your own diary and take accountability for your performance.
  • Have the ambition to build a genuine long-term career rather than simply find your next job.

Why Recruitment?

If you're already good at sales, recruitment gives you the opportunity to use those skills in a different way.

You're still developing customers, building relationships, negotiating and closing deals, but you're also helping businesses grow and people make significant career moves.

At ECW Search, the opportunity goes considerably further.

As your experience develops, you'll have the freedom to build your own specialist market and customer base. From there, you can progress into senior recruitment, leadership and potentially building your own team and division.

There's no predetermined ceiling on where your career can go.

If you're a successful salesperson who's thought about recruitment, or you're simply looking for a career with greater earning potential, autonomy and progression, we'd like to hear from you.
