I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Researching and mapping your market.
- Building relationships with founders, hiring managers and candidates through calls, LinkedIn, networking and referrals.
- Speaking to people every day to understand businesses, careers and hiring challenges.
- Interviewing and qualifying candidates.
- Managing recruitment processes from first conversation through to placement.
- Developing market insight that helps clients make better hiring decisions.
- Building a reputation as the trusted recruitment specialist within your niche.
As your experience grows, so will your responsibility.
Our goal is for you to own your market and become the recruiter that clients and candidates think of first.
Who We're Looking For

More importantly, we're looking for someone who:
- Enjoys speaking to people and isn't afraid to pick up the phone.
- Is commercially curious and genuinely interested in how businesses grow.
- Loves asking questions and learning from every conversation.
- Understands that consistent activity creates opportunities.
- Is resilient, self-motivated and doesn't give up after hearing "no".
- Takes ownership of their own success rather than waiting for opportunities to come to them.
- Welcomes feedback and is committed to continuous improvement.
- Wants to become recognised as an expert within a specialist market.
- Sees recruitment as a long-term career, not just another job.
