About SER
SERT is a specialist recruitment business supporting the Technical and Green Energy sectors across the UK. We partner with innovative businesses and skilled professionals in fast-moving, future-focused industries, helping shape the workforce behind the energy transition and technical infrastructure markets.
We’re growing our Portsmouth team and are looking for ambitious, relationship-driven individuals who thrive in a fast-paced commercial environment. You do not need previous recruitment experience for this role. We’re more interested in people with strong sales ability, confidence on the phone, emotional intelligence, and the drive to build long-term relationships.
The Role
As a Recruitment Consultant, you’ll be responsible for building relationships with clients and candidates across the technical and green energy markets. This is a contract recruitment role, meaning you’ll work in a dynamic, fast-moving environment where communication, organisation, and commercial awareness are key.
You’ll spend your time speaking with candidates and clients, understanding their needs, building trust, and matching the right people to the right opportunities. This role is ideal for someone with a background in sales, business development, customer-facing roles, or any environment where relationship building and communication are critical.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
