I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

A realistic view of recruitment
Recruitment can be a very rewarding career, but we also want people to understand what they’re applying for.
It’s a commercial and target-driven job. You’ll spend a lot of time speaking with people, making calls, developing new business and putting yourself in situations where the answer might be “no”.
There will be good months and challenging ones.
But for someone who is competitive, resilient, enjoys working with people and wants their performance to directly influence their earnings and progression, it can offer a huge amount of opportunity.
You don’t need to already know how to recruit.. we can teach you that.
We’re much more interested in whether you have the attitude, work ethic and ambition to become good at it.
Interested?
If recruitment has never been on your radar before, don’t let that stop you from applying.
Whether you already have sales or recruitment experience, are looking to change industries, or simply want to explore a career with more earning and progression potential, we’d be happy to have a conversation.
