Acquire Recruitment Consultant
Acquire is a specialist recruitment partner to ambitious DTC and consumer brands across the UK, Europe and the US. We work with businesses across Pet, Health & Wellness, Food & Beverage, Beauty & Personal Care and Lifestyle, helping them hire exceptional talent as they grow.
We're looking for an experienced Recruitment Consultant to join our Bournemouth team and play a key role in the next stage of Acquire's growth.
This is a commercial role. You'll develop new client relationships, convert opportunities generated through our marketing activity and, over time, build a specialist market of your own within the consumer sector.
You won't be starting from zero.
You'll have an established brand, proven client relationships, case studies, an active senior network and marketing activity generating conversations and opportunities.
You'll work closely with our Head of Talent Delivery, so you can focus on building relationships and winning work while supporting delivery when needed.
What You'll Do
- Develop relationships with founders, senior leaders and hiring managers across consumer brands.
- Proactively identify and approach prospective clients through phone, LinkedIn, networking and referrals.
- Take ownership of inbound opportunities generated through Acquire's marketing activity.
- Run discovery calls, understand hiring challenges and convert opportunities into recruitment partnerships.
- Build and consistently manage your own new-business pipeline.
- Initially leverage Acquire's established reputation across Marketing and Growth to develop new relationships.
- Work alongside our delivery team to provide an exceptional client and candidate experience.
- Support search delivery and candidate sourcing when required.
- Gradually develop and own your own specialist market, potentially across Sales & Commercial or Supply Chain & Operations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who We're Looking For
You'll ideally have 2+ years of agency recruitment experience. Your current market isn't particularly important. We're much more interested in how you operate.
You'll be someone who:
- Is naturally commercial and confident speaking with senior people.
- Enjoys business development and isn't afraid to pick up the phone.
- Works with pace and follows up consistently.
- Takes ownership rather than waiting for opportunities.
- Is curious and asks great questions.
- Absorbs information quickly and puts coaching into practice.
- Is resilient, ambitious and motivated by results.
- Wants to build something rather than simply work another recruitment desk.

Why Acquire?
You'll have the opportunity to build a market you can genuinely own, backed by an established consumer recruitment brand and experienced delivery team.
We've also just moved into a brand-new office in Westbourne, ideally located between Bournemouth and Poole and surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants. There's an onsite gym and as much coffee as you can consume.
You'll join at an exciting stage as Acquire continues to grow across the UK while expanding internationally into the US.
If you're an experienced recruiter looking for more ownership, greater exposure to exciting consumer brands and the opportunity to build something of your own, we'd love to hear from you.
