Provn is a specialist technology search firm working across the investment sector.
We're looking for an Associate Recruitment Consultant to join the team, working across our Hedge Funds & Trading Firms practice. This is a 180 role to start - resourcing, talent mapping, and candidate delivery with the option to move into 360 further down the line, if and when that's the right path for you.
The Role
You'll work closely with the Practice Director, supporting live search mandates across hedge funds, trading firms, and similar businesses - helping fill roles across infrastructure, platform and trading engineering roles. The market you're working in is niche and relationship-driven, and you'll be expected to build real knowledge and expertise.
You'll own the candidate side of the desk - sourcing, screening, managing process, building relationships with engineers who aren't actively looking. There's a genuine path to 360 for those who want it, once you've built the market knowledge and delivery track record to support it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You'll Be Doing
- Source and screen candidates against live mandates across hedge funds and trading firms
- Build and maintain talent maps across key technical functions - infrastructure, platform, trading systems
- Proactively network with passive candidates - building relationships long before there's a live role to place them into
- Manage candidates through process: interview prep, feedback, offer management
- Support the Practice Director on live mandates - day-to-day delivery, market intelligence, candidate updates
- Keep candidate and market data accurate and up to date in Provn's systems
- Build genuine market knowledge
What You'll Bring
- Recruitment experience not necessary, however strong transferable experience (sales, relationship-driven roles) prioritised. Agency / search experience always welcomed
- A genuine interest in technology and financial markets - you don't need to be technical or have a deep understanding right now, but you need to want to learn and become immersed
- Strong communication skills - you'll be speaking to senior engineers who don't reply to generic messages
- Motivated and driven to succeed. You’ll be driven by the prospect of targets and exceeding expectations
- Organised and detail-oriented - you're often running multiple processes at once
